La Strada

This is not an original soundtrack but I want to share this compilation arranged and performed by the argentinian quartet "La Strada". Based in two violins, flute and a piano, this small ensemble performs fim music cues specially arranged that will surprise you because are amazing, believe me. I specially recomend the theme of "A Beautiful Mind" and "Sleeping With The Enemy".

Special thanks to Juan Claus for sharing this great CD.

Jade

This is the only non-released score by James Horner in 1995, what a year!!! Seriously... 1995 was the year that Horner most deserved an Academy Award, his other works included "Braveheart", "Apollo 13", "Balto", "Casper" and "Balto". Well, in this thriller Horner composed a little score based mostly in synth sounds and strings, also Horner included in the music 2 pieces not from him: "The Mystic Dream" by Loreena McKennitt and excerpts from "Le Sacre Du Printemps" by Igor Stravinsky. The source of this boot seems to be a dvd-rip.

Idlewild

John Debney was in charge to write the music for this 2006 drama directed by Bryan Barber. Debney's music (with additional credit to Outkast) is very nice with some remixes, dialogues, jazz and olddie sounds.

How The Grinch Stole Christmas

Another collaboration between James Horner and director Ron Howard, this time they bring to life the famous american character of The Grinch played by Jim Carrey. Already was available the song-score compilation on Interscope Records, here you have the promo with the complete score. Covers are included.

King Kong (video game)

One more Thomas Chance score, this time as requested is the music for the King Kong video game. Full orchestral, lot of percussion, great music! Highly recomended the first track, a suite of the best moments.

Commander In Chief

Larry Nash Groupé was the composer in charge for the music of this ABC miniseries starring Geena Davis as the president of the United States. The music is quite good, dramatic, and full orchestral.

Nueve Reinas

Another argentine composer is presented: César Lerner. This time for the succesful film "Nueve Reinas" (Nine Queens) that american producers released in the US as a new film called "Criminal". The promo music of Nueve Reinas is very good, tense, unfortunately is a very short promo.

Vanilla Sky

For this Tom Cruise film, director Cameron Crowe chose his wife Nancy Wilson to write the score, modern music with guitar makes a quite beautiful listening experience.

The Film Music Of Ira Newborn

Great compilation of this nice film composer, is sad that not too many of his works are released but at least we can enjoy here tracks from "Weird Science", "Dragnet", "High School High", "Into The Night", "Sixteen Candles" and "Planes, Trains and Automobiles". Covers are included.

Lord of The Rings: Shadows of Angmar

Coming back to video game scores, now here's a promo release of Thomas Chance music for "The Lord Of The Rings: Shadows Of Angmar". Included alongside with the music are some dialogues of Gandalf, very weird!

Canticles for Harp, Cello & Piano

This compilation of music composed by Georges Delerue is amazing, includes music for "True Confessions", Le Jeu Du Solitaire", "Milady", "Va Voir Maman, Papa Travaille" and the gem of the CD: "Interlude", in my opinion one of his best works, beautiful main theme. Covers are included.

George Of The Jungle

Now is time for an excellent score by Marc Shaiman, this promo release includes all score tracks and no songs, lot of fun! George, George, George of the Jungleeeeee....

Volunteers

One of the still unreleased scores by my beloved James Horner, unfortunately this bootleg is just a DVD rip of some cues and includes full fx and dialogue, although you can enjoy the few tracks, I specially recomend the second track from the 1:05 and the last track, that is the end credits. This is the Horner I love, epic and full orchestral, LONG LIFE DEAR JAMES!!

Sorry my friends he he he...

Airwolf

The classic mid-80 series, and the classic main theme composed by Sylvester Levay. Here's the 2CD promo release of the music, great synth score. Covers are included.

The Notebook

Second collaboration of director Nick Cassavetes and composer Aaron Zigman, this time for the romantic film about the story of a woman and her lover. As you can imagine the music is gentle and beautiful for orchestra and piano, a really enjoyment.

Beyond The Poseidon Adventure

The music for this sequel of the disaster film was composed by Jerry Fielding and never before available. This boot has not good sound as you may imagine but the music is quite good, very climatic in some passages.

Get it here!

Peti has some requests...

Now it's time for Peti's request.

Since a long time Peti and I (well.. only me) were looking for 3 scores, maybe any of you could be so kind and help me. As far as I know the first one indeed exists but only as iTunes download, the others are like my Holy Grials, but who knows...

- Das Jesus Video (2002, music by Egon Riedel)
German TV film about some archeologist that discovers something that could change man kind, totally recomended!!

- Guinevere (1994, music by Johnny Harris)
TV film about the famous lady that married King Arthur. The film starred Sheryl Lee as Guinevere and Sean Patrick Flanery as Arthur. The music is epic and medieval and there's no release yet.

- Christopher Columbus (1985, music by Riz Ortolani)
Italian/US production about the life of the historical marine starring Gabriel Byrne as Columbus, Faye Danaway as Queen Isabel, etc. An LP was released by Varese Sarabande and includes some score cues, what I'm looking for is an expanded/complete score for this miniseries.

- Jesus Of Nazareth (1977, music by Maurice Jarre)
Famous miniseries about the life of Jesus Christ starring Robert Powell, Anne Bancroft, Ernest Borgnine, etc. As many of you already know, there's an official CD released but I'm looking for any expanded or complete score.

Thanks in advance for any help!!!!!

The Juror

One of the still unreleased score by James Newton Howard: The Juror, a drama movie starring Demi Moore and Alec Baldwin. The music is dark in the style of Just Cause, seems that the source is a DVD rip because some tiny fx in a couple cues.

Madagascar

Still there's no promo with the complete score but at least we can enjoy this expanded? version of the music composed by Hans Zimmer, Jim Dooley and Heitor Pereira (among others) for this animated film. Also contains the music composed by Jim Dooley for the short "The Madagascar Penguins in a Christmas Caper". Covers are included.

Nip / Tuck

James S. Levine was the composer of this Fox mini series, the music quite good, modern style. Covers are included.

The Upside Of Anger

For this Kevin Costner film, french composer Alexandre Desplat give us a beautiful melodic score. This is the promotional release of his music. Covers are included.

Finishing The Game

This Brian Tyler score for the 2007 film was released only as an iTunes download, so here's the original music with the Tyler modern style, lot of electronica.

Haven

Brazilian composer Heitor Pereira was the man behind the music for this Bill Paxton/Orlando Bloom film. This promo includes all score tracks.

Top Gun

The only available releases of Top Gun were those song compilations with a couple score tracks, now here's a promo edition of Harold Faltermeyer music. Great synth score with the classic "anthem" and also includes an instrumental version of the song "Take My Breath Away".

Santa Clause 2

Christmas is not here yet but at least we can enjoy some great music about it, here's the promo release composed by George S. Clinton, full orchestral and lot of fun. Covers are included.

Mystery Of The Nile

Here's the music for an IMAX film about an investigation on the Nile river. The music was composed by spanish David Giro and has additional music by Steve Wood. As you can imagine the score has full arabic style with beautiful chants.

Noel

Alan Menken is not working too much this last years but here's the promotional score for the film Noel starring Penelope Cruz, Paul Walker and Susan Sarandon. The music is beautiful and gentle, a really enjoyement. Covers are included.

Stephen King's Rose Red

Well, I must admit Gary Chang is not one of my fav composers but some people asked me for this promo release. The music is soft with piano and orchestra, misterious in some passages.

The Snow Walker

Here's the music for this artic-based film composed by Mychael Danna. The score is beautiful and dramatic, with some ethnic touches as Danna usually does.

Thanks again to iordanman!

Taken

One of the few female composers is presented now: Laura Karpman. Here's the expanded score for the Dreamwork's TV series "Taken". The music is full orchestral and has a Williams touch... in my opinion. Covers are included.

Marvel Nemesis

Back again with video game scores, here's the promo release of Marvel Nemesis composed by Trevor Jones, the music is performed by all synths but is great and sound is excellent. Covers are included.

Joel McNeely Filmworks
